PARENTS! PARENTS! PARENTS!

It’s hard to believe that we are now in the 5th week of camp. We had a great visiting weekend. Parents, brothers, sisters and grandparents had the opportunity to see their campers summer home! After a rainy Friday night, the sun came out and stayed for the entire weekend! There was an endless line at the wonderful Luncheon Buffet prepared by our chef Albert and his staff. Campers were busy skiing, sailing and windsurfing for their parents, while many took time to play tennis on our 5 court complex and visit with Manny and Pan, Marimeta’s tennis professionals. The office was busy throughout the weekend as parents and campers hurried to sign up for the summer of 2000 and secure the best canteen numbers before they were busy getting ready to go back to their motels.

EVERYONE LOVES A PARTY

We heard that town was busy selling pounds of fudge and lots of licorice. Olde time pictures were being taken at the photo shop and many enjoyed their parents “motel jacuzzi’s” and eating at restaurants. Everyone returned to camp by 10:00 P.M. where each cabin had their own individual party! Candy, chips, and treats galore were the fare at each party, as campers reviewed their days for each other. There was very little crying, as campers were too busy for that. Everyone loves a party and by doing so, our campers were able to return to the comfort that camp has to offer.

It's time to get back to camp!

Sunday was “Lazy Day” as all campers were able to sleep late as their counselors were busy unloading the new duffles which arrived a bit late, but certainly in enough time for the staff to get them to the cabins where they belonged. Each cabin chose several activities to do while they were waiting for the buses to arrive with many friends to start the second session off to a sunny beginning. The coaches arrived on time and screams of joy were heard as the campers scrambled to the basketball court for their new cabin assignments. It wasn’t long before the smell of the bar-b-que brought everyone down to the lakefront to get hot dogs and veggie burgers before our Sunday evening movie. Oh, did we forget to mention the double scoop ice cream cones of many flavors as our evening dessert.
