Hey...did you hear about the social? |
On Tuesday, June 28th the rain came pouring down as the girls were at their activities. Since there was no thunder, our Marimeta campers continued to play at their activities. Ski Boats took girls around in “Ski Biscuits”, (tubing), kayaks, canoe’s and sailboats continued to cruise on Meta Lake and even with the drops coming down the swimming classes continued to enjoy there precious time. The afternoon was then busy with the practicing of MTV, standing for Marimeta Television (as mentioned in a previous Marimeta Messages). As the campers started getting ready for dinner we surprised them with the announcement of a social with Camp Ojibwa! A flurry of terrycloth robes ran down to the bathhouse as campers shampooed and blow dried their gorgeous hair for another event with “boys”! The younger campers (under 6th grade) had their social at Marimeta and the girls going into 7th grade and older were shuttled over to Ojibwa.
Yes, everyone loves to see their brothers, friends from school and new friends are made year after year at the traditional socials.
